Melania Trump wears khaki trousers but Secret Service agent steps in after this happens

Melania Trump visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage in Nairobi today.

As part of her first international trip without Donald Trump, the 48-year-old got up close with a baby elephant.

The First Lady of the United States and a team of onlookers approached one of the mammals in the vicinity.

However, as she greeted one elephant it decided to get very friendly with Melania.

The elephant nudged Melania, prompting her to take a step back.

Pictures show a Secret Service agent proceeding to step forward to offer protection.

The First Lady took a slight step back following the sudden move.

She soon seemed to recover from the elephant’s action, which hadn’t appeared to be serious.

The trip to the elephant orphanage also saw Melania feed the animals with a bottle.

The fashion icon opted for a pair of khaki riding pants, which drew attention to her toned legs.

Opting for a preppy look, she teamed the garment with a white shirt.

The First Lady had rolled the sleeves up to her elbows.

She finished off today’s aesthetic with a pair of brown knee-length boots.

Melania let her sleek locks cascade around her shoulders in voluminous waves.

CNN White House reporter, Kate Bennett, who witnessed the event first-hand, took to Twitter to share some insight into the visit.

Writing in view of her 37,500 followers, the journalist penned: “I have covered @FLOTUS [Melania Trump] for almost two years and have never seen her smile and laugh more than she is now with these baby elephants.”

Elsewhere on today’s outing, the reporter revealed Melania was taking a look at zebras, giraffes, and impalas, as she travelled in a vehicle towards a site of an ivory burn – mounds of ivory ash set up to discourage poachers.

Yesterday, Melania risked suffering a wardrobe malfunction in view of the world’s media, as she disembarked an aircraft in Malawi.

Having opted for a floaty beige-toned dress, the former fashion model rested her hands on the garment in order to avoid it blowing in the wind.

Later, Melania was pictured arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya, where she met the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta.
