James Martin weight loss: Chef reveals how he stays slim after losing five stone

James Martin, a British celebrity chef, lost five stone.

The impressive weight loss has been attributed to cutting out a number of foods on a diet plan.

James used to weigh in at 19st 7lb but now has a much slimmer figure.

He revealed how he makes sure he maintains his weight while on tour.

James reveals he calls on a his foodie friends to help him out when he is on the road.

“I’ve got a lot of mates of mine who are quite good chefs in the area who usually open late,” he revealed.

Presenter Ben Shepherd chipped in: “You must be burning up a lot of calories on stage.”

The chef replied: “Mainly because of stress more than anything else because it’s a lot of weight, you have to perform every night.”

James is currently on a tour of the UK, named James Martin: On the Road…Again.

Travelling across the UK, he will perform live cooking demos.

James Martin’s weight loss has impressed many, and he lost a whopping six stone. 

He revealed watching himself on TV prompted him to shed the pounds.

Talking to the Mail Online, he said: “You kind of watch and go, ‘Oh God there’s a bit of chin happening there’. And everybody’s TVs are bigger now. Before you used to watch TV on a small one and now they’re massive.”

Competing on Strictly Come Dancing also helped James shed the pounds, with the intense training regime and demanding schedule a shock to his system.

“I mean, I needed to!” he told Prima magazine, talking of how he dramatically dropped the weight during filming for the BBC show.

Nigella Lawson’s weight loss has also impressed many of her fans.

Nigella had bunions removed, which led to her body make-over.

She told the paper: “I had a very glamorous operation – a double bunionisation. I couldn’t walk to the fridge afterwards and, actually, it’s quite a good diet.

“Not because I stopped eating but because you can say to someone, ‘Can you get me a slice of cake?’ but it’s kind of embarrassing to say, ‘And now could you get me a second slice?

“It’s certainly true my weight went up [in recent years] – that happens in life sometimes.”
