iOS 12 update brings these new emojis to your iPhone, iPad and MacBook

new operating system was released to the public last month.

This blockbuster upgrade includes a swathe of new features such as improvements to Messages, Siri and Photos.

There’s also the introduction of something called Screen Time which can monitor how long you are spending on your device with daily or weekly reports providing a breakdown of usage.

Along with being able to set limits on apps and time spent on a screen you can now easily switch on Do Not Disturb.

This will block messages and alerts at certain times of the day and can also be automatically set to stop your device going off throughout the night.

If you own an older iPhone then iOS 12 is also worth the update.

The US technology firm says its new software is designed to make everyday tasks on iPhone and iPad faster and more responsive with performance improvements across the system.

As with almost all years, Apple always follows its main iOS release with smaller software upgrades and 2018 appears no different.

The technology giant has just announced that iOS 12.1 is coming soon and will include some fun new emojis. 

In fact, more than 70 new icons will be arriving on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac very soon.

Apple says the new emoji will include extra characters with red hair, grey hair and curly hair, a new emoji for bald people, more emotive smiley faces and additional emoji representing animals, sports and food.

Sports fans will celebrate the addition of new emoji for softball, frisbee and lacrosse, while outdoor adventurers will enjoy new characters for luggage, compass and a hiking boot to accompany the existing climbing emoji.

Llama, mosquito, swan and raccoon, join the kangaroo, lobster, parrot and peacock previewed on World Emoji Day, and bagel and salt join new food emoji for cupcake, leafy greens and mango.

Apple has also confirmed that it’s working with Unicode to “add more disability-themed emoji to the keyboard for Unicode 12.0, slated for release in 2019,”

WHEN WILL iOS 12.1 BE RELEASED?

If you are part of the developer or public beta programme, these new emoji are available in today’s previews of iOS 12.1.

Everyone else will get the new features in upcoming software updates for iOS, macOS and watchOS.
