Fortnite season 7: Has the BIG event leading up to new Battle Pass already started?

release date is months away but fans are already trying to figure out what Epic Games have planned for the next Battle Pass.

Fortnite season 7 is expected to kick off in December, judging by an in-game countdown running in Battle Royale at the moment.

The Fortnite season 6 Battle Pass has a countdown showing how much time is left until it ends.

At the moment it says the final full day to play Fortnite season 6 will be Wednesday December 5 2018.

And with past season crossovers the new Battle Pass has begun the day after the preceding one finished.

Which means the Fortnite season 7 release date could be Thursday December 6 2018.

But even though that is awhile off Battle Royale players have been left wondering whether the seeds for Fortnite season 7 are already being planted.

Since Fortnite season 6 kicked off last week Battle Royale players have noticed something strange going on.

Fortnite season 6 kicked off with the remains of the Fortnite cube in Loot Lake causing an island in the middle to rise high into the air.

The levitating island also had a reformed Fortnite cube at the base of it.

And since the start of Fortnite season 6 players have noticed that the levitating island is moving around the Battle Royale map.

It’s expected that the Fortnite island will move to each of the corrupted areas that the Fortnite cube once printed a rune in reverse order.

Where the floating island is moving to no one knows.

But it’s rumoured that this will create ‘corruption vents’ on the Battle Royale map, according to a post by Fortnite Intel.

Could the floating island reach its destination at the end of Fortnite season 6 and the start of Fortnite season 7?

While that’s possible, it’s likely this will happen much sooner.

If the floating island takes the same amount of time to reach its destination as the Fortnite cube, then it will be moving for around three weeks.

This would mean it would arrive at its final stop well before the rumoured Fortnite season 7 release date, but it would be around the time that Halloween kicks off.

So maybe the Fortnite floating island is all leading up to the event that kicks off this year’s Fortnite Halloween event?

In other Fortnite season 7 news, it’s been rumoured what the next Battle Pass theme could be.

In a post online Forbes claimed the next Fortnite Battle Pass theme, like with season 6, could be seasonal.

Fortnite season 6 has a distinct Halloween feel to it, while Forbes anticipate Fortnite season 7 could have a wintery look.

They have claimed the next Battle Pass could usher in an ice age to coincide with Christmas falling during Fortnite season 7.
