NBA news: LeBron James was wrong to join Lakers, he should of done THIS – Kanye West

NBA icon LeBron James made the bold decision to quit the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Los Angeles Lakers back in July.

The 33-year-old is yet to make a first competitive outing for his new side but, despite that, is expected to take LA by storm.

West, however, thinks James was wrong to leave Cleveland, where he continued his rise to NBA superstardom status.

The artist instead feels he would have been better off staying in the area given his big influence there.

“I feel like LeBron needs to be in Cleveland, Ye needs to be in Chicago, Big U needs to be in Crenshaw creating factories where his kids that he looks after 99 percent of the time when he’s not with his own kids can learn trades [and] crafts all the way from bonding a shirt together to STEMS, I think, was the term he used,” he said.

LeBron James spent four successful years with Cleveland before quitting for one final swansong elsewhere.

Speaking recently, he outlined his goals for his time with the Lakers.

“That’s [the championship is] the goal with the new team, young team,” he said.

“We’re very new to each other.

“That’s the goal, but we know the road goes through Golden State.

“We understand that. The whole NBA understands that. But that is always the goal.

“Each year, you train and prepare to try to get to another NBA Finals, so that is my preparation.”

James recently made his debut for the Lakers against Denver Nuggets.

And despite his side slipping to a 124-107 defeat, he insisted he enjoyed the match.

“Yeah, I mean, of course you take something from it, because we’ve been working on habits for the first week,” he said.

“It’s good to go against a different opponent instead of each other.

“We knew there were going to be times where we struggled, not move the ball as well as we liked to, a couple breakdowns defensively.

“But it’s good to have those things you can work on.

“You have something to look forward.”
