Alexis Sanchez put in another below-par display as Manchester United and Valencia played out a dour stalemate at Old Trafford.
The Chilean forward has been struggling for form and is yet to score for United in five appearances so far this season.
Sanchez was dropped last time out against West Ham but recalled on the right wing for tonight’s Champions League tie.
However, the 29-year-old looked well short of his best and was hauled off after 76 minutes following yet another woeful cross.
The former Arsenal striker began ambling over to the touchline when he saw his number was up but was hurried on his way by the impatient home crowd.
And Sanchez cut a dejected figure when he finally took his seat in the Old Trafford dugout, holding his head in his hand.
The ex-Barcelona star was also seen hiding his face inside his shirt following the latest chapter in his nightmare season.
Sanchez is one of seven players who have reportedly clashed with Jose Mourinho this year, taking issue with his omission from the squad to face the Hammers.
The out-of-form frontman is supposedly the highest-paid player on the United roster, potentially earning around £500,000-a-week.
However, his continued struggles are causing much frustration among the club fanbase while his presence in the team has arguably stunted the development of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
There have been suggestions that Sanchez could now be looking for a way out of the club, having arrived from Arsenal just eight months ago.
Many more displays like tonight and the majority of supporters won’t argue if the Red Devils cut ties with their superstar frontman.
