Fortnite update DELAY: No PS4 and Xbox One 6.1 patch today?

Fortnite fans may have to wait another day before they get to boogie down in the new LTM being released by Epic Games.

Fortnite update 6.1 is being launched this week, with Tuesday the usual day for the development team to perform the patching process.

However, since no details have been shared by Epic Games on possible downtime, or scheduled maintenance, it appears the new patch may have been delayed.

The studio behind the popular Battle Royale game usually posts a warning to fans that downtime and patch notes are coming their way.

This is released at least ten hours before a new update is scheduled to go live and as we haven’t heard anything yet, it would be a safe bet that the new patch will arrive later.

That doesn’t mean fans will have to wait a long time for the new season 6 update, the first since it began last week.

Epic Games could release Fortnite 6.1 on Wednesday, or possibly Thursday, depending on their internal schedule.

Fans on all platforms will want to keep an eye on the Fortnite social channels over the coming hours to find out when it will be arriving.

The good news is that we already know about some of the new stuff the upcoming update will contain.

Early patch notes have confirmed that a brand new LTM is being released this week, which could prove very popular with fans.

The new limited time mode will be called Disco Domination and looks to have a funky kind of the hill vibe to it.

“Capture and defend Dance Floors around the island using emotes to earn points,” the official description reads.

The aim of the game is to impress your friends with your dance moves, although it’s hard to say just how much boogieing one gamer can take.

The Fortnite Trello page confirms that a fix is on the way for mini-map, rendering and audio issues.

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play game developed by Epic Games and available to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.
