Zinedine Zidane to Man Utd OFF? Blow in Mourinho replacement chase as Juve chief QUITS

Zidane is currently the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United if the Old Trafford board axe their manager.

Mourinho is facing increasing scrutiny after a run of poor results leaves United 10th in the Premier League.

A fall-out with former Juve midfielder Paul Pogba has left a shadow over the club.

Pressure is mounting on Mourinho and United were this weekend forced to deny they had approached Zidane to become their new boss.

Zidane is currently out of work after leaving Real Madrid in the summer – but a move to United may not happen.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Zidane is now in contention to replace Beppe Marotta as Juventus CEO.

Marotta confirmed on Saturday he will be leaving the Serie A giants when his contract expires next month.

Earlier this year Express Sport reported that Juventus were interested in – and now it appears as though an appointment is on the cards.

Tuttosport claim UEFA vice-president Michele Uva could also join Juventus when Marotta steps away.

Uva is the former CEO of Parma and has also worked for Lazio and the Italian FA.

Were Zidane to get the job, it would leave searching for a new frontrunner to replace Mourinho.

Mourinho is currently the odds-on favourite with the bookmakers to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

Zidane remains favourite with the bookmakers at 1/2 to replace Mourinho, yet there are plenty of other names out there.

Antonio Conte – sacked by Chelsea in the summer – is the second favourite to come in for Mourinho and remains out of a job.

Laurent Blanc has still not found a post since being replaced by Thomas Tuchel at PSG.

Tottenham would put up a fierce battle to keep Mauricio Pochettino (14/1) away from Old Trafford, while Zidane would not want to lose Max Allegri (20/1) if the Frenchman did take over in Turin.
