PS5 release date NEWS: 2K reveals SHOCK next-gen wishlist

With the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett release dates creeping ever closer, more game developers are revealing what they want to see from the next generation of hardware.

The latest person to weigh in on the debate is , who had a surprise request for hardware manufacturers like Sony and Microsoft.

Speaking exclusively to Express Online, Little said that he wants the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett to launch with better media.

“Literally, having blu-rays as our media is challenging, because the advent of 4K gaming means everything is getting better and bigger and bigger, and we try to add more content every year,” he said.

“One of the challenges we have every year is how do we try to fit everything on to a blu-ray, and then how do you load it fast enough, because you’re literally talking 50GBs of data.

“It seems like a funny problem to have, but it is one of those challenges we face, and we talk to the hardware guys about it and they’re like, ‘yeah, that’s hard’.”

Little doesn’t think it’s a problem that will be solved anytime soon, but it is an interesting issue that’s becoming more problematic as technology progresses.

Other developers have called for , as well improved physics for blockbuster game releases.

The former was requested by Shadow of the Tomb Raider narrative director Jason Dozois, who wants anything that will make worlds feel more alive.

“More memory, more rendering, being able to see a further distance,” Dozois revealed. “Seeing vistas and thinking, ‘I can actually go there’, and it’s all connected.”

Japanese analyst firm Ace Economic Research Institute believes that the PS5 could launch as early as 2019.

A potential 2019 release date could, however, be derailed by manufacturing shortages.

As DualShockers points out, monolithic ceramic capacitors are especially problematic due to their increased use in cars.

Either way, there’s a good possibility we’ll find out more about the PS5 at one of next year’s big gaming events.

WWE 2K19, meanwhile, is out on October 9, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Anybody who pre-order the Wooooo! Edition will receive the game 4 days early.
