Fortnite update today: Epic Games releases patch notes for PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch fix

developer Epic has just pushed out the first update of Season 6.

Available on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, the Fortnite Season 6 update doesn’t require any downtime, but it does make some crucial fixes.

Fortnite has experienced multiple problems since the launch of the new Battle Pass.

Epic managed to solve issues with purchasing V-bucks, while Xbox One crashes are also a thing of the past.

Epic also had to disable Shadow Stones and elements of the game’s animation system. The latter was in response to reports of unintentional breast physics associated with the Calamity skin.

“Due to an issue with Shadow Stones, we’re disabling them until we have a fix,” reads an Epic tweet.

“We have disabled elements of our animation system,” the studio also tweeted. “This means you may see visual issues with some outfits. Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues!”

While Shadow Stones remain MIA, it looks like the animation problems have been resolved. That’s according to an Epic Games tweet containing minor patch notes.

“We have just pushed out an update containing fixes for item and animation issues,” the company confirmed. “This will not require downtime.”

This week’s bumper Fortnite update added a host of new gameplay features, map locations and more.

Pets are one of the biggest new additions, as Epic Games adds new companions for players.

There are also multiple new map locations, including the Floating Island, Corrupted Areas, Corn Fields and Haunted Castle.

Another useful feature is the ability to customise your controller bindings on consoles. Epic Games has also made changes to the way the storm circles work in Fortnite Battle Royale.
