The official PS Plus October 2018 roster looks set to be revealed today, following many shock leaks that claim to show what will be announced.

PlayStation Plus subscribers have been told that at least three different PS4 games could be included in October’s PS Plus lineup.

However, as we all know, Sony only release two for each console – PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

Some of these can be used in crossplay, but these don’t make them official PS4 games.

2018 has been a good year for free PS4 games so far, and hopes are high that Sony will continue their winning streak.

It was revealed earlier this year that the PS4 has now outsold the PS3 in lifetime sales, with 82 million PlayStation 4 units shipped so far.

And Sony has also confirmed that they have changed one of their key PS4 features.

While not part of the PS Plus subscription service, it has been revealed that the PS Now streaming service has been altered in one substantial way.

Fans can now download the games they usually stream, much like with the rival Xbox Game Pass.

“Hundreds of PS4 games including Bloodborne, God of War 3 Remastered, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, DiRT Rally and Farming Simulator 17 will be available to download, in addition to the line-up of classic PS2 games remastered for PS4,” a message on the official PlayStation website explains.

“This feature will be gradually rolled out to users in September, so if you don’t see the feature on your PS Now app today, make sure to check back again soon.

“Downloaded games will be available to enjoy in native resolution up to 4k and with 5.1 surround sound, plus they will support all user-purchased DLCs, microtransactions, add-ons, and PS4 Pro enhancements.

“And remember, you do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription for online multiplayer on PS Now – which stays the same for both streaming and downloaded games.”

These game will be available play offline when they have been download, but it should be noted that you will need to connect your PS4 system to the internet once a week to verify your PS Now subscription.

Back to the PS Plus announcement and it looks the next batch of free PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita games will be revealed today at 4.30pm.

New PlayStation Plus leaks have surfaced this week

And there have been multiple leaks that may have given us a big hint of what might be included in the new roster of games.

Prior months has seen Sony add a few surprises into their lineup, with a couple of PlayStation VR titles made available alongside other games.

There has also been a substantial list of first-party exclusives launched over the past few months, something that has proven popular with fans.

And from what has been posted online, there are several candidates for what might be revealed today.

According to a leak posted online, both Nioh and Diablo 3 will be available to download in October.

Now it will be worth taking this with a pinch of salt, as there is no way to verify if this is true.

Someone posted a picture of the two top games that featured the yellow PS Plus symbol, something that usually indicates their inclusion.

It would undoubtedly be a fantastic duo to be able to download as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription in October.

However, there probably isn’t enough evidence in this screenshot to sway many that this will be the official games lineup.

There have been reports this week of problems using the PS Store following update 6.0.

So this could just be a glitch and not confirmation of a big PS Plus leak.

And this potential leak was followed by another, albeit only referring to one game that might be part of October’s PlayStation Plus service.

The second leak appeared within the last 24 hours, only this time Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition was listed as a PS Plus game for October.

Whatever is included, the free PS Plus games will be available to download less than a week later on October 2.

Destiny 2 is currently available to download for free from the PlayStation Store, featured alongside God of War III: Remastered.

For those who want to know about PS Plus subscriptions, the content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.

The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.

Anything you have purchased (even if you bought it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.

Also, different countries have different rights, release schedules and, have different things available on their PlayStation Store for this reason.

So this is why you may hear about different games being available in Asia, Europe and North America when it comes to some PS Plus announcements.

Even following the official announcement this week, fans will still have plenty of time to grab the current batch of PS Plus games before they disappear.
