Virgin Media reveals ultimate money-saving deal as customer prices set to rise next week

Virgin Media customers are set to see their bills rise next week as a new price increase comes into force.

The satellite and TV firm is adding between £2 and £4 to monthly bills with an average increase of around £2.20 per month.

Although many customers aren’t happy, Virgin has defended the decision saying: “Increasing prices is not a decision which we take lightly.

“We work hard to keep our prices competitive while continuing to invest in our network and improve the services we offer our customers.”

Costs might be about to go up but there is a new deal that could actually save you money off your yearly bill.

For a limited time, Virgin is slashing the price of its ultimate VIP bundle to just £79 per month – a saving of £10 per month.

The deal includes 260 channels including all of the Sky Sports, BT Sports, Sky Cinema and 4K Ultra HD services.

There’s also ultrafast VIVID 350 fibre broadband which offers speeds of 362Mbps and Talk More Anytime calls are also included along with an extra set-top box for multi-room viewing.

The £79 per month price includes free set up but it does only last for 12 months.

Once the year contract is up you’ll be placed on the standard tariff which costs £129 a month.

If you fancy taking Virgin up on this deal then you’ll need to be quick with the price cut ending tomorrow, September 26.

The news of this deal comes as Virgin has just launched a dedicated 4K channel.

This new service went live on September 17 and is be free for Virgin TV Full House and VIP customers – like the deal above – with a V6 set-top box.

Virgin says that anyone with those premium bundles can tune into a collection of critically acclaimed dramas, documentaries and watch a selection of hot-ticket concerts at no extra cost in Ultra HD.

Virgin TV Ultra HD will air on channel 999 and broadcast at prime-time until the early hours.

Speaking about the new service David Bouchier, Virgin Media’s Chief Digital Entertainment Officer, said: “With the launch of Virgin TV Ultra HD we’re giving our customers the ultimate entertainment viewing experience with must-see shows in incredible, crystal-clear picture quality.
