Fortnite Battle Royale anniversary event: Will there be a Battle Royale birthday event?

Battle Royale is approaching its one year birthday, with rumours Epic Games could be about to hold an event to mark the major landmark.

On Wednesday September 26 it will be on PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

Epic Games has already held an in-game birthday event to mark one year since the launch of Fortnite Save The World.

But it wouldn’t be a surprise if Epic Games also celebrates the one year anniversary for the Fortnite Battle Royale release in a special way.

And one prominent Fortnite leaker is hoping the Cary-based developer has big plans for the Fortnite Battle Royale anniversary.

The Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter recently tweeted: “September 26th is the 1 Year Anniversary of Fortnite: Battle Royale.

“I would love to see a specific LTM dedicated to the old map and none of the new weapons.”

Not long after that the Fortnite Leakage Twitter account spotted files in Fortnite update 5.41 for a ‘firework’ event.

The game files show fireworks lightning up the shape of a llama in the Fortnite Battle Royale sky.

The @FNleak Twitter account posted: “There’s now another “firework event” added to the files again but it’s possible Epic will do the same thing as last time and it won’t actually happen.”

Could this be tied to the Fortnite Battle Royale anniversary event?

If a Fortnite Battle Royale anniversary event is held then it will be the final event of Fortnite season 5.

Wednesday September 26 will also be the final full day of Fortnite season 5 with Fortnite season 6 launching the following day.

The news was confirmed by Epic Games via the official Fortnite Twitter account on Friday September 21.

They tweeted: “Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27.

“Celebrate its arrival and unlock those final Battle Pass rewards with an additional 400% Match XP all weekend, from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT).

“Glide into the party”.
