As OnePlus 6T release gets closer there’s news that won’t please its Android rivals

OnePlus continues to have a stellar year.

The Chinese smartphone brand has already been lauded for its brilliant OnePlus 6 and a new smartphone launch, in the coming months, could make this device even better.

The OnePlus 6T is expected to arrive soon with it bringing new features such as a fingerprint scanner under the display and a smaller notch at the top of the phone.

Better battery life, wireless charging and improved dual-lens camera are also thought to be arriving on this updated flagship.

There’s no official release date for this phone but OnePlus has teased that it will be here before the end of the year.

OnePlus recently announced some new headphones and as part of the release they confirmed, “these new earphones are set to be launched alongside the company’s next device, projected for Q4 2018.”

Now there’s even more big news for this mid-range smartphone brand and it could have its Android rivals feeling the pressure.

Latest research from Counterpoint shows that OnePlus has entered the top five for premium smartphone OEMs in Western Europe for the first time.

During the second part of 2018, OnePlus was amongst the top five premium smartphone OEMs in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and UK as well as across Western Europe.

It’s thought the OnePlus 6 is behind the new figures with it becoming the fastest ever selling OnePlus device with over one million units sold in its first 22 days on sale.

Along with these impressive sales figures, there has been some other positive news for this brand.

from the team at Tom’s Guide saw this mid-range smartphone beat many of its Android rivals.

In fact, it even managed to beat the new iPhone Xs Max in one graphics performance test and came top of the Android pile in a Geekbench 4 score.

Although the iPhone Xs Max took the top spot with the highest benchmark speeds, the OnePlus 6 beat the Galaxy Note 9, LG G7 ThinQ and Galaxy S9+.

We’ll hopefully find out more about the OnePlus 6T in the coming weeks and Express.co.uk will bring you all the latest news as soon as it’s announced.
