This summer saw the release of All or Nothing – a football documentary produced by Amazon Prime that went behind the scenes of Manchester City’s Premier League title-winning season.
Cameras captured detailed insight of Pep Guardiola’s training methods as well as giving fans the chance to see exactly what goes on in the dressing room.
The documentary received mixed reviews with some praising the all-areas access it gave supporters while others believe there were parts of it that seemed staged.
But the overall success of the documentary has now reportedly seen Amazon approach Liverpool about doing the same with them this season with Jurgen Klopp’s side one of the favourite to win the title.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the German was the man chiefly responsible for rejecting the proposal.
The report claims many of Liverpool’s top brass, including American owner John Henry, were keen to let the cameras in and gave the green light for the documentary.
But Klopp put his foot down and voiced his concerns over the series being filmed.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss feels there is nothing to be gained from it and reckons people’s behaviour changes when in front of camera.
Klopp is keen to not upset the harmony of his dressing room.
Liverpool have made a stunning start to the season, winning all five of their Premier League matches before beating Paris Saint-Germain in their first Champions League match on Tuesday night.
After Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over the Ligue 1 champions at Anfield, Klopp insisted there was no mountain his side could not climb.
“Denying them so often, I don’t think a lot of teams have done that,” said Klopp.
“It was necessary we played good, the atmosphere was fantastic, so special to do these things in this stadium.
“One, two, three years ago the people would have thought that’s a mountain we cannot climb.
“It’s still so unbelievably difficult, you can’t plan it. What the boys make of the match plan is extraordinary, it’s outstanding.
“If one of them gave a yard less, game over.”
Liverpool return to Premier League action tomorrow when Southampton make the trip to Anfield (3pm).
Meanwhile, Amazon hope to strike a deal with Bayern Munich for a new football documentary.
