Fortnite season 6 release date DELAY: Epic Games reveal new Battle Pass start

is coming soon and Epic Games have confirmed when the new Battle Pass will be hitting Battle Royale.

It had previously been thought that Fortnite season could be starting as early as next Tuesday.

But the game’s official Twitter account has now confirmed that Fortnite season 6 will be starting next Thursday.

They tweeted: “Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27.

“Celebrate its arrival and unlock those final Battle Pass rewards with an additional 400% Match XP all weekend, from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT).

“Glide into the party”.

The news means it looks like the start of Fortnite season 6 has been delayed, with the end date for Fortnite season 5 also pushed back.

Throughout Fortnite season 5 there has been a countdown showing how much time was left until the end of the current Battle Pass.

Previously the Battle Pass countdown pencilled in the end for Fortnite season 5 as Monday September 24.

But this has now been pushed back to Wednesday September 26, the day before the Fortnite season 6 release date.

The Fortnite season 6 release date news was revealed days after the Fortnite cube event reached its big finale in Battle Royale.

More than three weeks after the Fortnite cube first appeared it moved into Loot Lake where it melted and created a big, purple bouncy area on Wednesday.

But Fortnite fans are convinced that this isn’t the end for the Fortnite cube and Epic Games may have one more surprise in store.

These Fortnite rumours were given more weight when Mark Rein, Vice President and Co-Founder of Epic Games, took to Twitter after the Fortnite cube end.

When questioned if that was it for the Fortnite cube on Wednesday, he tweeted: “This is @FortniteGame – there’s ALWAYS something else :)”.

Elsewhere Fortnite tweeter @siloxleaks has noticed a strange sound coming from the runes that the Fortnite cube left behind.

They tweeted: “Runes appear to be making a new sound? The1st rune did not make this sound”.

Could these sounds by hinting towards another big event surrounding the Fortnite cube? We’ll have to wait and see.

Fortnite season 6 will be available to play on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, PCs and Macs.
