Discord DOWN: Server status update, as connection issues plague chat service

Discord servers are down, leaving countless users unable to connect to voice chat.

Based on the reports on Twitter, the Discord servers have been offline for nearly an hour.

Discord’s issues have been picked up by Down Detector, which monitors server problems across different services.

Fortunately, however, an end to the problem is in sight, as the Discord tech team tells fans that it is working on a fix.

“We’ve identified an issue affecting connecting to Discord right now,” a Discord post reads. “The team is online and working to fix the problem.”

In the meantime, users have taken to Twitter to discuss the problems facing Discord.

“Did your robo-hamsters bite down the power cables?” one user jokes.

“@discordapp the app wont connect for like an hour…tried restarting the computer but still nothing..” reads another tweet.

Express Online will update the story as it develops.

Discord is described as an “all-in-one voice and text chat for gamers that’s free, secure, and works on both your desktop and phone”.

“Stop paying for TeamSpeak servers and hassling with Skype,” Discord suggests. “Simplify your life.”

The app certainly is popular, with millions of users taking advantage of the free service.
