PS Plus October 2018: Shock PS4 free games leak ahead of PlayStation announcement?

The clock is ticking down to when we will find out the official PlayStation Plus games lineup for next month.

Sony hasn’t provided any official clues on what might be coming to the PS Plus October 2018 roster, and they aren’t expected to announce until next week.

The last Wednesday of the month is when Sony has traditionally shared the news on what new free PS4 games will be available to download next.

But before that time, it appears a leak may have been shared online, confirming things before Sony has the chance.

Now it will be worth taking this with a pinch of salt, as there is no way verify if this is true.

Someone posted a picture of two top games that featured the yellow PS Plus symbol, something that usually indicates their inclusion.

But when the person clicked through, they didn’t get anywhere.

And the two games in question? Just the PS4 version of Nioh and Diablo 3 Eternal Collection.

It would certainly be an amazing duo to be able to download as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription in October.

However, there probably isn’t enough evidence in this screenshot to sway many that this will be the official games lineup.

There have been reports this week of problems using the PS Store following update 6.0.

So this could in fact just be glitch and not confirmation of a big PS Plus leak.

The only reason fans could even hope for such a top games roster for the PlayStation 4 is based on past months.

Destiny 2 is currently available to download for free from the PlayStation Store, featured alongside God of War III: Remastered.

Both will be available to download until at least October 2, before the monthly PlayStation Store refresh.

PS Plus subscribers can also download two bonus games during September – Knowledge is Power, and Here they Lie.

“The perfect game for those long, lazy summer evenings, Knowledge is Power pits up to six players against one another in a race to the top of the Pyramid of Knowledge.

“Inch your way up by answering questions, completing tasks and occasionally trying to trip-up your fellow contestants, all in the name of jolly-good fun. And you can put those Dualshock controllers down – as a Playlink title, Knowledge is Power needs nothing but your handy smart phone.”

Here They Lie: “An excellent test of nerve for those with gumption, Here They Lie is a surreal, unsettling journey through an otherworldly realm filled with strange, malevolent creatures and unpredictable environments.

“Brave its horrors, and you’ll uncover a mystery buried at the heart of this feverish nightmare and perhaps answers to questions you’d dared not even ask – and you thought you’d sweated enough this summer.”

For those who want to know about PS Plus subscriptions, the content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.

The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.

Anything you have purchased (even if you bought it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.

Also, different countries have different rights, release schedules and, have different things available on their PlayStation Store for this reason.

So this is why you may hear about different games being available in Asia, Europe and North America when it comes to some PS Plus announcements.

Even following the official announcement this week, fans will still have plenty of time to grab the current batch of PS Plus games before they disappear.
