Star Wars 9 leaks: New JEDI revealed and will be played by THIS British actor?

The past must die, according to some people.

Apparently this also means that the Jedi ways are over, but many fans are not ready to let go of the idea of the noble iconic warriors protecting a galaxy far, far away.

Rian Johnson’s Last Jedi did already tease the emergence of new Force users, who may well be part of a future narrative that does not necessarily include the return of the Jedi (to coin a phrase).

However, new leaks describe concept art of an older man holding a lightsaber. Is it really who we think it is?

Storyboard and concept art description leaks continue to swirl. Obviously, everything must be taken with large pinch of salt, but it could all tie in with old reports that a certain star was long ago being lined up to play a Jedi in a galaxy far, far away.

The leak describes concept art: “One of which consists of a man with a beard in raggy clothing holding a lightsaber hilt.

“His hair is similar in length and colour to Luke Skywalker’s in A New Hope. His outfit is nothing like a Jedi’s, however, but almost as if he was a slave. There are tears in the lower parts of his pants revealing the knees and shins. This character appears to be in his late thirties.”

Recent official information has revealed new cast members but not their characters, as yet.

Keri Russell is widely speculated to be playing a member of Kylo’s Knights of Ren, or maybe an importance Resistance agent.

British star Dominic Monaghan is still most famous for playing the hobbit Merry in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and was already linked to JJ Abrams first Star Wars movie. And guess who he was supposed to be playing?

Back in 2014, Yoda News posted: “Still just a rumour, but our sources are saying that Dominic Monaghan will have a role as a Jedi in Star Wars EP7…

“I doubt he will be a lead but maybe a cameo role. The big three are in it and not unknowns. And we don’t normally post rumors. This may be the third in 10 years, source seems solid on it. Time will tell.”

Monaghan obviously did not make it into The Force Awakens, but he shares a strong history with JJ Abrams from the TV show Lost and it is starting to look like he might have found his way back to Star Wars.

Recent pictures of the 41-year-old star have shown him with a scruffy beard. Could this be our new Jedi?
