NU-NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT…

13:00: OK, terrible word-play but It’s Sunday and I’m feeling tired.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has refused to entertain speculation linking him and midfielder Ruben Neves with moves away from Molineux.

During the international break, a German newspaper suggested the 44-year-old has been earmarked as a potential successor to fellow Portuguese Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, while Neves has been linked with PSG.

Nuno dismissed the stories and insisted he is only focused on his day-to-day job at Wolves.

“You know me, I don’t talk about that. It doesn’t make sense,” he said. “Now is not the moment to even think. I totally ignore that.”

UP NEXT…

12:55: Don’t forget that we’re heading up to Goodison Park later for today’s second Premier League fixture.

Lose at Everton and Manuel Pellegrini’s class of 2018 would become the first West Ham side to taste defeat in all first five matches of a league season.

West Ham remain pointless and rooted to the bottom of the table. I find desperation yields the most entertaining matches…

TEAM NEWS – BURNLEY

12:50: Sean Dyche makes three changes to the team which lost to Manchester United at Turf Moor.

He’s reverted to type with Sam Vokes partnering Ashley Barnes in attack with Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood dropping to the bench.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson returns to replace Dwight McNeil as the Clarets go 4-4-2 at Molineux today. Bosh.

TEAM NEWS – WOLVES

12:45: Wolves are unchanged from their stoppage-time victory over West Ham before the international break. It’s the six-successive game that Nuno Espirito Santo has named the same starting XI.

Forward Raul Jimenez has recovered from a muscle injury while away with Mexico and leads the line this afternoon, but Adama Traore remains on the bench, despite scoring the winner against the Hammers.

DYCHE LOVES MONDAYS

12:40: Sean Dyche thinks it would be helpful for clubs if they did not have to play in the Premier League until the following Monday after being in Europa League action on a Thursday.

The Clarets’ four Premier League games this season have all been on Sundays, three days on from Europa League qualifying games, and they have not won any of those domestic matches, drawing the first before losing each of the next three.

“What you could consider is a Monday game, for a bit more recovery,” Dyche said. “What I’m really talking about is when you do the away games, because you’re getting in at six in the morning and then you’re playing again in two days. That’s tough.

“I know a Monday night is mainly TV games but what I’m saying is for specific games, could it be the Monday? Possibly. That extra bit of recovery does count when you are playing a lot of games close together and you have a lot of travelling.

“I don’t really know the rules of whether they can do it fixture-wise. But I think it would be helpful if they could.”

RESET…

12:25: The heroic efforts of last season must seem like a life-time ago for Clarets fans, who have seen their brief Europa League campaign end before the group stage while Sean Dyche’s men have failed to win a domestic fixture.

Heading to a buoyant Wolves side is hardly the next best destination, but Burnley can have no excuses over jet lag as they aim to finally break their Premier League duck.

GOOD AFTERNOON

12:20: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League.

How is everyone feeling? I tried my best to watch the Canelo vs GGG boxing fight this morning but slapped my alarm off the table at that ungodly hour.

I stick by my decision.

The ‘big six’ all played yesterday with European football returning next week, so today is the turn of Wolves, Burnley, Everton and West Ham to impress in front of the TV cameras.

All the team news and line-ups will be arriving shortly, so let’s set the scene…

WOLVES vs BURNLEY

Wolves could be without Raul Jimenez as the forward, who scored on the opening day of the season against Everton, suffered a muscle injury while away on international duty with Mexico. Portuguese winger Ivan Cavaleiro is yet to play this campaign due to a back problem and he will remain out.

Burnley have Johan Berg Gudmundsson back available, but Ben Gibson is out. Winger Gudmundsson has recovered after missing the 2-0 home loss to Manchester United last time out due to a hamstring problem. Gibson, who was also not a part of the squad for that game, is to see a specialist about his groin issue. Fellow defender Stephen Ward is fit again after a foot injury.
