Real Madrid are today taking on Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium as the Galacticos look to continue their perfect league start.
Los Blancos have made it three wins out of three for La Liga 2018/19, with Real joint on points at the top of the table with bitter rivals Barcelona.
But today’s fixture looks to be Real Madrid’s toughest La Liga test so far this season, with Bilbao sixth in the league right now.
Real Madrid though do have fine form against Bilbao, with the Spanish giants unbeaten in their last six games against the Basque side.
Speaking ahead of today’s game, new Real boss Julen Lopetegui hit out at La Liga plans for a game in the States.
He said the plans to hold a La Liga match between Barcelona and Girona in Miami undermines the competition.
Lopetegui said: “I am not in favour of it happening.
“It does not benefit the equality of the competition.
“All the teams should play in the same stadiums.”
The comments could add a bit of extra spice in the lead up to next month’s El Classico.
