Fortnite cube COUNTDOWN: Cube moving towards FINAL destination, Battle Royale map news

has been the big talking point in Battle Royale for over three weeks with the mystery setting tongues of season 5 players wagging.

The Fortnite cube first appeared on the Battle Royale map on Friday August 24, and has since been moving around bit-by-bit.

In its wake the Fortnite cube has been burning mysterious runes into the ground as it heads toward its final destination.

The Fortnite cube is expected to be moving towards Loot Lake on the Battle Royale map.

Leaks have shown that fans will see the cube burn seven runes into the Battle Royale map before at last activating.

The last rune the Fortnite cube has most recently been printing into the ground is the sixth one, with just one rune left after that.

It’s believed that once the Fortnite cube leaves behind its seventh rune it will then turn on and activate.

It looks like the Fortnite cube, after leaving behind its seventh rune, will move to a final destination and then activate.

As pointed out in an article by Forbes, the runes the Fortnite cube is leaving behind can be traced to join up and draw a literal cube shape on the map.

In total there needs to be eight points on the Battle Royale map for the path of the Fortnite cube to finish tracing its cube shape.

Eight points as in the seven runes the Fortnite cube is leaving behind as well as its final destination, for instance.

So it looks like once the Fortnite cube burns behind its seventh rune, expected to be near Pleasant Park, it will move onto the home stretch.

As the Fortnite cube mystery rumbles on it looks like one popular theory could have been all-but confirmed.

Leaks have shown that the Fortnite cube looks to be heading towards Loot Lake – its alleged final destination.

The prevailing theory is that the Fortnite cube will turn Loot Lake into rivers of lava with a volcano also possibly spawning.

This theory was sparked after audio files for flowing lava was discovered in Fortnite update 5.40.

However, lava is not present anywhere on the Fortnite Battle Royale map.

And now this theory that the Fortnite cube could turn Loot Lake into a lava-filled area has been given more weight.

In a post online Fortnite Intel revealed that dataminers spotted models and meshes for volcanic pit assets in Fortnite.

These were discovered some time ago, but it’s possible it could have been added well in advance before being used for the Fortnite cube finale.

The Fortnite season 5 Battle Pass has a countdown in it which currently says that it will finish on Monday September 24.

It remains to be seen if the Fortnite cube will turn on during Fortnite season 5 or if it will activate at the start of season 6.

But either way, the Fortnite cube is quickly moving towards its end game.

Recently the Fortnite cube sped up its movements, moving every 42 minutes and 59 seconds.

This is much quicker than the one hour and 43 minute intervals the Fortnite cube moved at when it first appeared.
