Black Ops Beta: Blackout open Bo4 beta start time and PS4 and Xbox Call of Duty news

The brand new Call of Duty Battle Royale Blackout beta is now live on all platforms and has been seen as an early success for Activision.

Analysts have been watching how the new beta has been performing and have been left impressed by some of the stats.

Streamers testing out the game on Twitch have been noted, with numbers reaching the 400,000 mark earlier this week.

AndCall of Duty: Black Ops 4 is currently one of the most watched games on Twitch, followed by Destiny 2 and Fortnite.

And that number might go up following the launch of the open Black Ops 4 beta, which goes live later today.

Ahead of the Black Ops 4 October 12 release date, Activision will put the brand new Battle Royale mode through its paces as part of the Blackout beta on all platforms.

But there’s only one that will allow gamers to try out Blackout mode for free.

The PC, early access beta, has already begun and will be followed by something fans may find interesting.

That’s because Battle.net is hosting a free open Blackout beta, starting today.

It won’t run for as long, but it will include all the stuff everyone else is currently testing out.

The PC Open Beta begins on September 15 at 6pm in the UK, and will end with all the other platforms on September 17.

This will be around the same time on each platform, 6pm in the UK and 10am, PST.

Anybody with a code for the previous Black Ops 4 closed beta will be automatically entered in the Blackout beta.

And anyone with the previous Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta installed won’t need to pre-load the Blackout beta. However, a day-one patch is required to access the Battle Royale mode.

Some fans will also be able to get free codes for the Bo4 beta if they have an Xfinity account.

This is limited to the United States and is apparently available for any platform.

For those that don’t know, Black Ops 4 Blackout is Activision’s new Battle Royale mode shipping with the main game.

Instead of a single-player campaign, COD fans will get to duke it out across a Call of Duty map that’s filled with history from the series.

Before the game officially begins, Blackout will toss you into a random location on the map. Here, you can explore and try out systems, mechanics, items, and equipment you’ll experience in the game, allowing you to get familiar with things before the action heats up. Although the equipment or vehicles you use can be damaged or destroyed, every player in the pregame period is invulnerable.

When enough time has passed, and/or enough players have joined, a timer will begin counting down to the start of the game.

The game begins with all players in transport helicopters flying across the map in a randomly chosen straight line. When prompted, players can exit the helicopter whenever they choose.

Players then navigate the drop process using a Wingsuit. You can point in the general direction you want to head, but for extra speed and distance, fall straight towards the ground to gather maximum momentum.

When you get close to the ground, your parachute will deploy automatically, giving you a short amount of time to steer and fineness your landing.
