WWE news: Nikki Bella delivers MAJOR John Cena update ahead of Hell in a Cell

Bella stunned the WWE Universe and world of showbiz when she split with fellow WWE superstar and reality star Cena last April after a six-year relationship.

Rumours suggested the ex-Divas Champion broke up with The Leader of the Cenation because he didn’t want to have children.

However, the two-time Divas Champion dismissed the reports and claimed she pulled the plug because she had cold feet ahead of their wedding that was scheduled to take place on May 5 in Mexico.

She recently added that she also wasn’t willing to sacrifice her career and ambitions for a relationship that required one of them to stop working.

However, she claims the two WWE superstars still have an “amazing connection” with each other and remain good friends.

Bella told E! News: ”I think it’s when you have an amazing connection with someone and you just stay friends.”

The reality stars got engaged last year in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania 33 after beating The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

Bella recently returned to the squared circle where she teamed up with twin sister Brie and beat Sarah Logan as well as Liv Morgan of The Riott Squad on RAW.

A week later the former Divas Champion defeated Ruby Riott in Singles competition and has been linked with a big match in the near future.

Rumours suggest she will challenge UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE’s first ever all-women’s Pay-Per-View event Evolution.

The groundbreaking show will air on October 28 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York.

Cena’s last televised appearance took place last April at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia where he defeated legendary rival Triple H.

The 16-time world champion also competed in a Six Man Tag Team Match at a live event in Shanghai two weeks ago.

The Leader of the Cenation teamed up with Finn Balor as well as Bobby Lashley and beat Elias, Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal.

Cena’s next appearance will take place at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

The ex-WWE Champion will join forces with Lashley and will face Kevin Owens as well as Elias in a Tag Team Match.

Nikki isn’t scheduled to compete at Hell in a Cell this Sunday but Brie will team up with her husband Daniel Bryan and will take on The Miz and Maryse.
