Avengers 4: Surprise team-up revealed? Dead character comeback ‘CONFIRMED’

The actress, who plays Nebula in the MCU, had previously said prior to the release of Infinity War that Nebula would be getting a “new BFF”, with the partnership being “brilliant and unexpected and so good”.

Could her fellow Guardian of the Galaxy, Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, be that person?

Gillan took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with a model of Klementieff’s head – joking: “Back on @avengers. Got @pom.klementieff to keep me company. #nebulaandmantis.”

Mantis, of course, was one of the victims of the Snap at the end of Infinity War – so does this essentially confirm the unsurprising news that she’s back?

It’s not a big shock that Mantis is back – in fact her presence on set earlier this year even led to the assumption she wouldn’t die in the first place.

But screen-time with Nebula – if that is indeed what Gillan is alluding to here, rather than just kidding around – would be an interesting development, given how important Nebula could be in Thanos’s downfall.

Fans of the original comics will know that she’s integral to his demise – distracting him and taking the Infinity Gauntlet for herself.

And yesterday she shared a photo of her alarms on her phone, with the text: “You know what this means….Nebula has some unfinished business with Daddio.”

Nebula survived the Snap, but had earlier been tortured by Thanos as part of his ploy to get Gamora (Zoe Saldana) to reveal the location of the Soul Stone.

Gamora ultimately gave in, and Thanos had to sacrifice her in order to obtain the stone.

So it’s safe to say Nebula now has more than a little score to settle in the upcoming movie – reshoots for which are ongoing.

But despite previous claims that all principle photography was completed last year, Mark Ruffalo has revealed that the cast are still figuring out what exactly the blockbuster’s ending will be.

“We’re not just doing reshoots,” he told the Marvelists podcast.

“We’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.

“I don’t even know that they really know exactly if it is happening while we’re there.”

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
