NBA 2K19 UPDATE: PS4 and Xbox One patch fixes VC glitch

According to the patch notes released today, there have been some major changes made to NBA 2K19.

Today’s NBA 2K19 update was mostly aimed at fixing issues from the launch build, which went live earlier this month.

This new patch is currently only available to download on PS4 and Xbox One, but will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in the near future.

And while the official patch notes shared by the 2K development team are pretty sparse, the game’s subreddit offers more details.

This includes a range of changes and one that has removed a high-profile VC glitch.

For those that don’t know, VC stands for Virtual Currency, which you can earn throughout the various game modes in NBA 2K18 to spend on different content.

VC is spent within the game store, on things like MyPLAYER attributes, virtual goods (such as uniforms and equipment), apparel, and animation packages that grant your character new moves to perform.

VC can also be spent in many game modes, including MyCAREER (for apparel, signature animation packages and more), and MyTEAM for opening packs and more.

Players can VC by playing online matches or progressing through the MyCAREER mode when you’re connected to the internet.

And players found a way to farm VC by using a workaround involving signing secondary MyPlayers.

These were assigned to Inactive roles on top-tier teams, along with the chance to play zero minutes per game for a small amount of VC.

This allowed players to grind pretty effectively for VC, something that has now been removed.

Improved framerate when playing on an Xbox One X in 4K resolution with HDR enabled.

Fixed an issue where some users were reporting that save loading was getting stuck at 100% when attempting to load into the Neighborhood.

The 0 minutes VC method has also been patched but is not part of official notes.

There’s also a list of issues that have been flagged since the launch of the new update, which can be found below:

  • MyPOINTs are not applying to Cap Breaker, unclear if visual glitch
  • Issue with starting practice/gym drills
  • Some users are getting a visual bug where they have been reset to 60 OVR.

The 2K team has also released a workaround for the issues with the Myplayer stats, which can be found below.

“We understand some players are encountering an issue in NBA 2K19 after installing the latest patch (released on September 13, 2018), where their MyPlayer’s attributes have been reset to basic levels.”

We have a quick workaround to deal with this issue:

  • While in the Neighborhood, bring up the Nav menu and view your attributes.
  • Restart your console.
  • Start playing NBA 2K19 again. Once you’ve started playing again, everything should be back to normal.
