OnePlus 6T’s best features may have leaked ahead of release

The OnePlus 6T is expected to be the Chinese manufacturer’s forthcoming smartphone that has been predicted to build upon everything the OnePlus 6 did well when it released back in May.

OnePlus has made a tradition of releasing more iterative “T” upgrades to its regular numbered devices.

And the OnePlus 6T is expected to follow that precedent by being unveiled around six months after its predecessor.

Although nothing has been confirmed about the device from the Chinese tech giant, rumours have been swirling around the new piece of hardware.

Last week alleged packaging of the smartphone emerged on Weibo that hinted the OnePlus 6T could feature a much smaller notch than the regular OnePlus 6 and could feature futuristic fingerprint scanning technology.

The box was plastered with a slogan reading “unlock the speed” and a fingerprint was shown on a render of the front of the hardware, suggesting the OnePlus 6T could feature a sensor under its display.

And now another leak of the device appears to have emerged, once again through a user on Weibo, spotted by PiunikaWeb, that may have lifted the lid on some of the OnePlus 6T’s best features.

A supposed specification sheet for the new model was posted on the discussion site and appears to show the OnePlus 6T could pack a mighty upgrade from the lauded OnePlus 6.

The screenshot insists the new flagship will come with a 6.4-inch screen – this would mark a small bump up from its predecessor.

The OnePlus 6 came with a 6.28-inch AMOLED panel.

And the image hints the device could allow the user to choose between two different processors.

The phone is displayed as being available in versions with a Snapdragon 845 and a Snapdragon 855.

Snapdragon 855 is the presumed name for Qualcomm’s next flagship chip.

The processor has been predicted by many to be announced towards the end of the year.

OnePlus 6T was also said to come with either 6 or 8GB of RAM, a 3,840mAh battery and up to 256GB of internal storage.

The alleged spec sheet also claims the hardware will boast a whopping three cameras on its rear and two on its front.

And a supposed image of the phone appears to line up with previous leaks that showed the OnePlus 6T featuring a much smaller, teardrop shaped notch.

Express.co.uk could not confirm or deny the new leak, so OnePlus fans should probably take it with a pinch of salt.

Last month CNET reported the OnePlus 6T will arrive in August and that its price was “tentatively set” at $550 (£425.04).

If true, fans of the Chinese manufacturer will not have to wait long to see what it has in store for its next device.
