WWE news: The Shield botch Triple Powerbomb and leave Dolph Ziggler in agony

Universal Champion Roman Reigns took on Mr Money in the Bank Braun Strowman in the main event but the match was interrupted by RAW Tag Team Champions Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.

Dean Ambrose and Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins came out to help Reigns and overpowered their rivals in front of a fired up live crowd.

The Hounds of Justice then brought a table to the ring and signalled for the Triple Powerbomb on Ziggler.

Ambrose and Rollins picked up the two-time world champion and placed him on Reigns’ shoulders before all three of them slammed him on their weapon of choice.

The table, however, didn’t break and the crowd watched in shock as The Shield tried to figure out their next move.

Ziggler took some time to get up but he probably didn’t suffer too much damage as he then experienced another beating from Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins.

The two teams have been embroiled in a heated rivalry ever since The Hounds of Justice reunited on RAW after SummerSlam.

Mr Money in the Bank tried to cash in his contract on the Universal Champion three weeks ago but Ambrose and Rollins came out to help their team-mate and attacked the challenger.

The Monster Among Men managed to fight them off for a moment until The Big Dog grounded him with a vicious Spear.

The legendary faction then picked up the Greatest Royal Rumble Winner and slammed him through the announce desk with the Triple Powerbomb.

Strowman turned heel the week after as he joined forces with the RAW Tag Team Champions and brutalised all three members of The Shield.

Things got even worse for the legendary stable seven days later as Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley, Sunil Singh, Elias, The Authors of Pain, The Ascension, Drew Gulak and Mike Kanellis came out to help The Monster Among Men, Ziggler and McIntyre launch another brutal attack on The Hounds of Justice for unknown reasons.

The 14 heels annihilated The Shield as The Monster in the Bank delivered a series of blows to Reigns with the steel steps.

Intercontinental Champion Rollins had his arm busted open as he was slammed to a police car from the top of the ramp.

The Shield will get their chance for revenge at WWE Super Show-Down as they will take on Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre in a Six Man Tag Team Match on October 6 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Strowman at Hell in a Cell on September 16 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
