Man Utd news: Paul Pogba makes Barcelona transfer revelation, hints at Jose Mourinho row

Barcelona missed out on pushing through a deal for Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window, but numerous reports have suggested they will likely try again in January.

Manchester United’s record signing has experienced an up and down career at Old Trafford since re-signing for the club in 2016.

Rumours of unrest with Jose Mourinho have failed to disappear with the United boss said to be frustrated with Pogba’s inconsistent displays.

That has led to further speculation regarding Pogba’s future, with the Red Devils said to be softening their stance on whether to cash in on the midfielder.

He added to the rumours this week when he suggested he could look to leave United saying: “who knows what will happen in the next few months.”

And Pogba has spoken out again on a move to Barcelona while also admitting to some issues with Mourinho in the past.

“To speak about a transfer… I am under contract,” Pogba told Telefoot.

“There have always been little things with the coach, our relationship is still the same, manager-player.

“We have common objectives, which are to win.

“So long as you see that I am not in a Barcelona shirt, that is because I am at Manchester United.

“There will always be rumours.”

Gerard Pique also spoke directly about Barcelona’s interest in Barcelona last month, stating he wants the central midfielder to join him at the Nou Camp.

“We will be happy to have him here, obviously. We want the best players to be at Barcelona,” he said.

“But we respect Manchester United because it’s his club. Until he says something or the club says something, he’s a Manchester United player.”

He is currently on international duty with France for the UEFA Nations League.

The World champions drew 0-0 with Germany on Thursday with Pogba playing the full 90 minutes and they face Holland today (7.45pm BST).
