Fortnite season 6 map news: Shock change leaks ahead of release?

Fans believe they may have found out what’s coming next to the Fortnite map, after weeks of speculation.

According to those who have been looking through the most recent build of the hit Battle Royale game, Epic Games could be cooking up a hot new map tweak.

And this could include Fortnite Season 6 starting off with a volcanic explosion and the destruction of a well-known location.

A mystery cube has been doing the rounds and is expected to finish off at Loot Lake.

It’s one longest-running theory for the object, which continues to do odd things around the map.

And this could culminate in triggering a volcano to sprout out of the Loot Lake location.

This is being backed up a few bits of evidence that has been found by those dedicated to finding out what is happening.

SEASON 6 EXPLOSIONS

Season 6 is expected to start around September 20, although Epic Games are known to mess around with end dates.

An extra week might be tacked on like what has happened in the past, but season 5 is expected to end later this month.

FNBR – Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter account – has found references to a volcano pit in the games files, as well as a possible volcano-looking object seen in the week 10 loading screen.

“Ok, here’s a mask of loot lake. If you look closely you can see (what I believe) is a volcano at the top left, and in the middle looks like a lava pool. Also in the game files, there is a “VolcanicPit”.

“Also. According to the week 10 loading screen, Brite Bomber is touching the cube.

“Because of that, we can see an evil version of her, basically the opposite. Since the cube is going to loot lake, the opposite of water is lava.”

It would make sense that Epic Games would want to continue to change the Fortnite Battle Royale map into season 6.

Unlike PUBG, Epic Games has decided to stick with one map, changing it slowly over the years with new additions.

The process has proved popular and continues to keep the fanbase entertained.

It’s also expected that another live event is being cooked up for the end of season 5, much like the rocket launch in season 4.

The cube seems the likely candidate to pull this off, what with it being pretty easy to spot over the map.

And why not change up Loot Lake, the area could easily be flipped to make it more exciting for a short period.

Could the week 10 loading screen also be teasing the season 6? Are Epic Games cooking up a dark reign theme for the coming weeks?

All will be revealed by Epic Games, although it might not land for a while.

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play game available to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.
