Sandi Toksvig weight loss: Bake Off star lost whopping four stone by cutting this food out

Sandi Toksvig, is a British-Danish comedian, writer, actor and television presenter, on our screens presenting The Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding.

The 60-year-old has lost an impressive amount of weight in recent years, having shrunk from a size 22 to a size 10 in just 12 months.

Sandi lost four stone by making one change to her diet plan, embarking on the plan when her partner became worried for her health.

Realising things had to change, Sandi changed her lifestyle and overhauled her diet, but what did she do?

In her Good Housekeeping column, Sandi revealed: “I was never interested in how I look. The number one thing in my whole life is my children and I want to be there for them.

“At my worst I was a size 22, and at that size you can’t go down the high street and buy yourself things that make you feel good. Your shopping options are limited in a way they aren’t when you are a size 12.

“I had tried every diet out there – I would lose weight for a bit, then put it back on again. Then, by chance, my partner, Debbie, and I saw an advert for Louise Parker in an airline magazine.”

Sandi then embarked on the Louise Parker diet plan, a plan which encourages followers to go sugar-free, exercise every day and cut our complex carbs.

Following the plan, the Bake Off presenter lost a whopping four stone in just 12 months.

“I’m not quite as thin as I was, but I certainly haven’t put it back on again,” she continued.

“The wonderful thing is I now have the tools to deal with it. Mostly now I don’t eat carbs – actually I’m not attracted to them any more.”

By following the Louse Parker plan, Sandi also followed diet tricks such as eating little and often and ensuring protein is at every meal.

In her column, she also revealed: ‘When I first started I couldn’t touch my knees. Now I can run 5K no problem.”

The comedian has managed to maintain her slimmed-down figure, but will no doubt find avoiding sugar hard as the presenter on The Great British Bake Off.

In 2017 Sandi, along with Noel Fielding, replaced former presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

Sandi’s career began at Cambridge University, writing and performing in an all-women show at the famous Cambridge Footlights.

She then started performing as part of the Players improvisational comedy team at the Comedy Store, London.

Her media career truly kicked off when she began starring in the television series No.73 in the 80s.

Her career then extended to radio: she has appeared on BBC Radio 4 shows such as I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and presented the channel’s Excess Baggage travel programme.

With a career spanning over 30 years, it’s no doubt that Sandi has racked up and impressive net worth.
