How To Touch Up Your Roots

We’ve been seeing more and more celebrities trying out the grown- out dark roots trend recently, and while we’re not denying that Sienna Miller, Drew Barrymore and co are looking pretty fab as they do it, we can’t help being colour traditionalists and reaching for the dye when our roots start creeping through!

For those of you looking to give dark roots a go, make sure your hair isn’t too contrasting to your roots by sticking to a dye one or two shades lighter than your natural colour. The laid back look of letting your roots grow out needs to be balanced with gorgeous styling to keep you looking coiffed and on-trend rather than simply lazy with your hair colour! Try the got2b 2Sexy Hairspray with collagen lift to create real volume and style.

If you’re like us though and you can’t bear to leave your roots showing, then all you need to do is follow this simple root regrowth application method:

  1. Mix your LIVE Color XXL or Palette hair colour as usual by following the instructions provided in the pack
  2. Apply a small amount of Vaseline or barrier cream around your hairline to prevent dye staining your skin during the colouring process. We hate it when that happens!
  3. Apply 2/3rd of the mixture throughout the whole regrowth area and massage gently to ensure that all the regrowth is covered evenly. Say goodbye to those roots!
  4. Leave the dye to develop for 20-30minutes, and then apply the remaining colour mixture to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Massage well and leave the to develop for an additional 5-10 minutes. This method prevents the ends of your tresses looking darker and over-coloured
  5. Rinse by adding a little luke warm water to the hair and working into a lather. Again, be careful to avoid staining around the hairline. Rinse thoroughly until the water becomes clear
  6. Protect your colour and nourish your hair by using the LIVE or Palette Colour Conditioner provided. Massage this well into damp hair for two minutes then rinse thoroughly

Ta da! Goodbye roots, and hello soft, supple and super shiny hair!
