Week 8 will include the final Summer Skirmish action for Fortnite fans on all platforms.
Having kicked off just over two months ago, the new eSports competition has been given out prize money each week to those players who have excelled.
The final Summer Skirmish competition is being held at PAX West and is a 3-Stage Solo event being held Friday to Monday.
At each Stage, players earn points through scoring Victory Royales, finishing in the top 10, and by scoring over three eliminations.
It should be noted that these points can only be earned once per match.
“For example, 10 eliminations would only earn you +3 points and any additional eliminations will not add points to your score,” Epic Games explains.
The points system works as follows:
VICTORY ROYALE: +3 POINTS
2ND-3RD PLACE: +2 POINTS
4TH-10TH PLACE: +1 POINT
3-4 ELIMINATIONS: +1 POINT
5-6 ELIMINATIONS: +2 POINTS
7+ ELIMINATIONS: +3 POINTS
Explaining the format, Epic Games confirms: “We’re kicking things off with three Stage one heats every day, running Friday to Sunday.
“These will be open to the first players to register on site each day. Each heat will play a mini-series of two matches to determine placements. The top 32 players at the end of each Heat will move on the Stage Two Nightly Qualifier for that same date.
“Each evening, the Stage Two: Nightly Qualifiers will begin for all the players who advanced from that day’s Heats. The top 33 players at the end of the Nightly Qualifier will advance to Monday’s Stage Three Grand Finals.
“During the Grand Finals, all players who qualified during each evening’s Nightly Qualifiers will come together in a series of matches. By the end of the six-match brawl, the ultimate victor of the PAX Summer Skirmish will be Royale-ly crowned.”
And Epic Games has also promised that they will be showing off more Fortnite Battle Royale content during the PAX West livestream.
During last night’s PAX stream, fans got a first look at the new High Stakes Wild Card outfit, which is coming to the game very soon.
And tonight, Fortnite players can tune in at around 2am, BST, to have a closer look at the new Getaway LTM gameplay reveal.
The Fortnite High Stakes event is launching next week and will bring with it the new Getaway LTM, the Wild Card outfit as well as the High Stakes challenges.
The Fortnite Twitter account posted on Friday: “Suit up… the High Stakes event begins next week and with it comes the new Getaway LTM, Wild Card outfit, and High Stakes Challenges!“
The Wildcard skin has its very own Cuff Case back bling, as well as a matching Safe Cracker glider.
Fans will be hoping to find out all the juicy details tonight, as well as more information on the best ways to get the new loot.
It appears this new event will be kicking off next week, so perhaps we will learn about the structure and when specifically it will unlock, during tonight’s livestream event.
