Amazon Prime discount drops subscription price but offer ends TODAY

Amazon Prime is the tech giant’s flagship subscription service that gives members access to a wide-range of benefits.

In addition to receiving faster delivery options than standard Amazon customers, subscribers are also treated to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service that offers a multitude of TV shows and movies that can be watched on demand.

Prime Video also touts its own original content that includes The Grand Tour.

And this year the service is giving users access to coverage of the US Open tennis tournament.

In fact, Amazon has rolled out an update to its virtual assistant Alexa that will allow it to answer a number of questions about the grand slam in New York City.

A few of the questions Alexa can be asked are the following:

Alexa, when is the US Open?

Alexa, who is Novak Djokovic?

Alexa, who is Serena Williams?

Alexa, who is Roger Federer?

Alexa, who is Rafael Nadal?

Alexa, who is Andy Murray?

Amazon Prime also gives access to music streaming and allows customers to pick up a variety of books free of additional charges.

Amazon usually charges £79 a year for Prime, however today is the last day the retail giant is offering it at £59.

The deal will end at 11.59pm tonight.

However, it is worth noting that anyone that takes advantage of the deal will have to pay £79 in their second year in order to continue their membership.

At the moment Amazon is also making its lauded Echo speaker cheaper than ever too.

The tech giant has currently shaved £20 off the 2nd generation Echo, meaning it comes in at just £69.99.
