‘Not there yet’: Trump to REMAIN in office for now as insufficient impeachment evidence

He told ABC News that they have insufficient evidence to start the impeachment process at this time.

He said: “We don’t want to be as reckless with the facts as he is.

“I think having thorough investigations, putting forth an impenetrable case, doing it in a bipartisan way is the proper way to do this, but we’re not there yet.”

Calls for impeachment have grown after former Trump associate pled guilty to tax fraud and to violating campaign finance laws under the orders of Trump.

The President has since come out fighting against any criticism of his conduct while in office.

In an interview on Fox and Friends, Trump said” “If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash, I think everybody would be very poor.

“You would see numbers that you wouldn’t believe.”

House Democrats have said on multiple occasions that impeachment is “not a priority”, according to Nancy Pelosi, for them as they are concerned about angering Republicans before the midterms.

They are to take place in November with the Democrats hoping to claim back the House.

Bill Galston, a former policy adviser to Bill Clinton, said: “At this stage there is an enthusiasm gap between the bases of the respective parties.

“The only chance the Republicans have to close this gap is to charge that the Democratic party is seeking to undo the result of the 2016 election through legal processes.”

But Republicans are seizing on any impeachment talk to hit back and harm the Democrats.

Rudy Giuliani, a lawyer for Trump, said: ‘This election is going to be about impeachment or no impeachment.”

Steve Bannon, former Trump adviser, made similar claims.

He said: “This other side, they’re very motivated- and they’re motivate for one thing: they want to impeach Donald Trump.”

Democrat Swalweel is hoping to run himself in 2020.

He added: “The best thing we can do is promise the American people if we are given the majority we will conduct the investigations Republicans are unwilling to conduct, including this campaign finance violation, including the questions around his contacts with the Russians and including his tax returns.”
