Avengers 4: Major character BEHEADED in jaw-dropping artwork – after Infinity War taunt

Artist ultraraw26 has been providing fans with plenty of unofficial designs for the upcoming movie, and their latest is quite the jaw-dropper.

It shows Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) holding up Thanos’s decapitated head, and even though the Mad Titan is a fictional CGI beast, it’s still quite unsettling to look at.

Scroll down to see it in all its glory.

Judging by the picture’s caption when shared on Instagram, it’s a direct reference to something Thanos himself told Thor at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

When Thor fails at the last moment to prevent the Snap, Thanos tells him: “You should have gone for the head.”

So this, it seems, is precisely what Tony Stark does in the artist’s impression of the next film.

The snap has had 32,000 Likes on Instagram since being shared over the weekend, surpassing another incredible image the same artist shared just weeks ago.

One of ultraraw26’s previous efforts saw all of the victims of the Snap inside the Soul Stone, with Thanos looming overhead.

From King T’Challa to Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange to Spider-Man, the population of the Stone was considerably high, due to the death toll at the end of Infinity War.

As it stands, the events of Avengers 4 remain a total mystery – with even the official title being kept under wraps for now.

Marvel will presumably be keeping their cards very close to their chest in the run-up to the blockbuster’s release next spring, especially seeing as Infinity War ended on such a spectacular cliffhanger.

Fans’ next visit to the MCU will be in the 1990s-set Captain Marvel, which will properly introduce Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers to proceedings.

After Avengers 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the next movie on the slate; due for release next summer.

Following that, things become a little more unclear: it was recently claimed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is on hold following the controversial firing of director James Gunn.

A report late last week suggested crew members are being told they can look for other work while pre-production is put to one side.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26, 2018.
