Indonesia earthquake: Lombok RATTLED by strong 5.7 quake

This evening’s earthquake has registered 5.7 magnitude, striking at a depth of 28 miles.

According to the Paris based European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), it is the third earthquake felt in the Lombok region in the last 49 hours.

They also said the estimated population in the felt area is around 5.2 million.

Witnesses took to earthquake-tracking website EMSC-CSEM to describe their experiences.

One said: “The shaking was strong enough to wake everyone up.”

Another said: “I was asleep but my glass started shaking and I immediately woke up.”

The Mexican based Sky Alert said there is possible damage near the epicentre.
