Xperia XZ3 v XZ2 Premium – Leaked images show a major difference between Sony flagships

Xperia fans have an exciting few months ahead.

The Japanese technology firm has just announced the UK release of its new premier smartphone – the .

This device will hit stores later this month and include a 5.8-inch HDR display, fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a 3540mAh battery which can be refilled wirelessly.

However, perhaps its biggest new feature is the inclusion of a dual-lens rear camera which Sony is boasting is “one of the most remarkable cameras ever made in a smartphone.”

Sony’s XZ2 Premium can reach a maximum ISO of 51,200 when shooting still photographs. Videos hit highs of 12,800 ISO.

According to the firm, these impressive figures purportedly enable the XZ2 Premium to capture “ultra-low-light capture previously only seen in interchangeable lens cameras”.

With Sony officially announcing this device we know it’s available on August 31 but there could another Xperia phone coming very soon.

Rumours are rife that Sony is about to reveal its next flagship in the form of the Xperia XZ3.

Little is known about this phone but all signs point to a big reveal at the IFA technology show next week.

Sony always shows off new devices at this event and 2018 could be no different and some recently leaked XZ3 case images may give a good idea of what’s to come.

The pictures, which have been published by an accessory company, show a very similar design to the XZ2 and this means there’s no inclusion of a dual-lens camera.

There’s no clear shot of the new phone but the case design shows a cut-out for a single rear camera and similar position for the fingerprint scanner.

The screen also appears pretty similar to the current Xperia flagship range with a relatively large bezel at the top and bottom of the phone.

If real, these images show that Sony isn’t following its rivals with an all-screen design and notch.

No other specs or features have been revealed but we’re expecting to find out more about this new device in the coming days.

Express.co.uk is heading to Berlin for IFA and we will be bringing you all the latest news live from the show.
