Sarah Ferguson: Prince Andrew ex makes ‘sharp exit’ when Prince Philip arrives at Balmoral

Sarah Ferguson is believed to have had to leave Balmoral in anticipation of Prince Philip’s arrival at the same spot.

The Duchess of York is said to have travelled with Prince Andrew and their daughter Princess Beatrice, 30, to the famous royal castle in Scotland.

However, it is believed Prince Philip – who is famously said to not get on with Fergie – was absent from the castle for the period she was there.

A journalist from the Daily Mirror opened up about the “sticky situation” in an interview on Lorraine.

He said: “It’s a sticky situation obviously – her relationship with Prince Philip isn’t great.”

“The Duke of Edinburgh isn’t her fan,” he added, referencing the infamous ‘toe-sucking’ scandal in the early nineties, where Sarah was pictured in an intimate situation with her financial advisor John Bryan.

Later on in the interview, he revealed Prince Philip’s arrival sparked Sarah to leave the house.

“[Sarah] was there but had to make a sharp exit when [Philip] came.”

In an interview with the Mail on Sunday last week, a Balmoral source revealed Prince Philip’s desire to keep his distance from Sarah.

The source told the paper: “Her Majesty often has the Duchess for a few days at Balmoral early in her annual summer holiday there, but Prince Philip does not like being in the same building as her.”

“He just can’t bring himself to forgive her for some of the outrageous things she has done.”

Balmoral is entwined with this history of the breakdown of Sarah’s marriage with Prince Andrew.

She was in Balmoral with the royal family when news of the toe-sucking scandal broke in 1983.

Sarah first returned to Balmoral after a 16 year absence in 2008, when she enjoyed a holiday alongside the Queen for Princess Beatrice’s 20th birthday.

Earlier this week, new footage from Sarah Ferguson’s wedding to Prince Andrew was revealed.

In unearthed footage which has surfaced on YouTube, Sarah appears to do something members of the Royal Family are rarely, if ever, seen doing – winking.

As she promised to “obey” her groom during her vows, the bride turned her face towards him and appeared to wink.

It is a brief moment of fun which is over in less than a second, and is difficult to see thanks to the thick veil Sarah is wearing, however it was reported in some news outlets at the time.

The Los Angeles Times wrote in 1986: “Some spectators said they saw her wink at Andrew beneath her veil as she vowed to ‘obey’ her husband.”

Her wink is further backed up by a moment caught more clearly on camera later as the newlyweds walked out of church.

The ecstatic bride can be seen winking at someone sitting on the left hand side of the church, which would have seated her friends and family.
