Fortnite week 7 challenges: Dusty Divot Treasure Map change following Tomato Head launch

A range of new weekly tasks are set to be released today by Epic Games on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.

Used to complete tiers in the battle pass, the Fortnite week 7 challenges have already leaked, although there has been a last minute surprise.

It appears that one key detail from one of the weekly tasks has changed, meaning fans will be following a Treasure Map in Dusty Divots.

A leak earlier this week suggested that fans would be searching around Pleasant Park, although the rest of the details appear to be the same.

Epic Games has been known to change things at the last minute to wrong step data miners, although, there hasn’t been much of that in season 5.

During season 4 a Fortnite Pleasant Park treasure map challenge was one of the Battle Pass tasks for week 7.

So it would be surprising for Epic Games to play around with the formula and use a Pleasant Park treasure map challenge at the same stage during season 5.

We’ll all find out for sure when the Fortnite week 7 challenges go live on Friday.

But don’t be too surprised if it turns out to be a Dusty Divot treasure map challenge instead of a Pleasant Park task.

FORTNITE WEEK 7 SEASON 5 – FREE CHALLENGES

  • Visit the centre of Named Locations in a Single Match (4)
  • Search Supply Drops (3)
  • SMG Eliminations (HARD) (3)

FORTNITE WEEK 7 SEASON 5 – BATTLE PASS CHALLENGES

  • Follow the treasure map found in Pleasant Park (HARD) (1)
  • Eliminate opponents in Lazy Links (HARD) (3)

The new Week 7 challenges follow the surprise launch of a new map area and special Tomato Town tasks.

The Fortnite map update came after the release of the 5.30 patch which also brought with it the Rift-To-Go item and Score Royale LTM.

The addition of Tomato Temple is the most significant Fortnite map change since the start of season 5.

Tomato Temple can be found in the same spot as Tomato Town, but the new point of interest is a much larger locale.

To mark the addition of Tomato Temple, the Tomato head outfit has returned to the Fortnite store.

Once bought players can now try to complete the newly added Tomatohead challenges.

These challenges can be found under the regular challenges tab in Battle Royale after you have purchased the Tomatohead skin.

Once you complete these three challenges, you will be rewarded with the Tomatohead crown.

Here are the Tomatohead challenges:

  • Play matches (25)
  • Deal damage to opponents (5,000)
  • Gain 20,000 XP (20,000)
