WWE news: Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins set for big bout after Shield return

The Shield’s opponents haven’t been named yet but whoever stands against them Down Under will be facing an extremely difficult task trying to tame The Hounds of Justice.

WWE broke the news a day after their shock reunion on RAW that put the entire red brand on notice shortly after SummerSlam.

A statement read: “The Hounds of Justice will be unleashed at WWE Super Show-Down. United and stronger than ever, The Shield are set to make their way into Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, Oct. 6.”

The Shield’s reunion took place immediately after Reigns successfully defended the Universal Championship for the first time against Finn Balor.

Braun Strowman, who was watching from ringside, was ready to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on The Big Dog but then The Shield’s signature music echoed around the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and Ambrose as well as Rollins came out in full Hounds of Justice gear to the champion’s aid.

The three of them attacked Strowman who managed to fight them off for a few seconds until Reigns grounded him with a vicious Spear.

The Shield then put The Monster Among Men away with their signature Triple Power Bomb as they slammed him through the announce desk.

WWE seem to have been putting the pieces back together for another reunion ever since Ambrose finally returned from an arm injury that kept him sidelined for eight months.

The Lunatic Fringe joined forces with Rollins and helped him regain the Intercontinental Championship from Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.

Reigns then won the Universal Championship when he finally dethroned Brock Lesnar with three Spears in an intense battle.

The Shield now look stronger than ever as they hold two of RAW’s most prestigious titles.

The legendary faction debuted in 2012 and wrecked havoc for two years as they won championship gold and took out some of WWE’s biggest legends like The Rock, John Cena and The Undertaker.

Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose remained undefeated in Six Man Tag Team action for five months and beat some of the biggest stables in WWE history like Evolution and The Wyatt Family.

The famous trio disbanded in 2014 when Rollins betrayed his brothers and joined The Authority.

The Shield had a brief reunion last year but only managed to team up once at Survivor Series where they defeated The New Day in a stunning encounter.

Their second run was doomed when Reigns suffered a serious illness and Ambrose was shelved with an arm injury.
