Ahead of Galaxy Watch release Samsung Gear S3 slashed in price

all-new Galaxy Watch was announced earlier this month at the Korean firm’s Unpacked event in New York.

This latest wearable boasts a swathe of improvements including better fitness tracking, a more robust design that can survive in water to a depth of 50m and the ability to monitor your sleep.

This device comes in two sizes w=ith the larger 46mm model offering a staggering seven-day battery life.

The 42mm version lasts for four days but does arrive in Midnight Black and Rose Gold whereas the larger device is only available in Silver.

The Galaxy Watch hits shops next month with prices starting from £279 for the smaller model and £299 for the bigger face.

It’s also worth noting that a 4G connected Galaxy Watch will arrive later in the year and offer users the ability to take calls and respond to tweets and texts without the need for a phone.

There’s no word on a price for this wearable but expect it cost around £100 more than the non-4G models.

With the Galaxy Watch just a few weeks away from launch it seems now is a very good time to buy its predecessor – the Gear S3.

This smartwatch was unveiled in 2016 and offers a 1.3-inch always-on display, decent battery life and numerous features to track steps, activity and health.

There are two models of the Gear S3 which include the Classic and more rugged Frontier.

Both cost £299 but, with the new Galaxy Watch now announced, prices are tumbling.

This means you can now buy the Gear S3 direct from Samsung for just £249 – a saving of £50.

Argos and Currys are also offering this discount but there is a way to get one even cheaper.

Carphone Warehouse has slashed the Gear S3 Frontier to £229 making this one of the best deals ever on this watch.

Before you rush to grab this deal it is worth remembering that .

This allows fans to grab a Wireless Charger Duo dock free of charge when they pre-order.

The accessory allows for the Galaxy Watch to be charged in addition to a phone of the customer’s choosing.

The Wireless Charger Duo costs £89 on its own.

Samsung has insisted smartwatch enthusiasts should purchase its new wearable before September 7 to take advantage of the offer.
