Diablo 3 release: When does Diablo III come out on the Nintendo Switch?

Diablo 3 is finally making its way to the this year. 

Blizzard confirmed the popular action-RPG is making its way over to the portable game console this week after a publication broke an embargo on the announcement a day early. 

There had been rumours the Blizzard game had been underway for the past year.

And a flurry of reports, suggesting the game could drop this autumn, could now come to fruition as the blizzard port could be ready before 2019.

What is Diablo 3?

Diablo 3 is a dungeon crawler action role-playing video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. 

The release is the third installment in the Diablo franchise.

Diablo 3 first launched on PC back in 2012 but now the Eternal Collection will be playable on-the-go with the Nintendo Switch. 

There will be a host of new and exclusive content for Switch players, including the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions. 

When does Diablo 3 release on the Nintendo Switch?

Now officially confirmed by Blizzard, Diablo 3 is releasing on the Nintendo Switch does not have an official release date.

However, the game developers have provided a tentative release of “fall this year”.

Fans can at least hope to expect Diablo 3 on-the-go before the end of 2018.

The Nintendo Switch version, while slightly lower in graphical quality, will have most of the features that are available for every other game console, including both new expansions. 

In fact, Switch players will even get something extra that no other console will receive, including a Legend of Zelda-themed armour set resembling Ganondorf, as well as a Tri-Force portrait frame, a Chicken pet, and Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wings. 

Diablo 3 for the Nintendo Switch will come with both recent expansions and is set to cost $59.99 (£49.99) on the eShop.

This release will coincide with Nintendo’s online subscription service, which will allow players to join games and adventure with their friends. 

You can split up to four players on the same Switch, four players on a local connection or online after the subscription service launches in September. 

Diablo 3 will run at 60 frames per second (FPS) at a 720p resolution (handheld) or 960p (Docked).
