– Real Madrid and Barcelona are still looking to tie up deals with their transfer window shutting on August 31.

– Barcelona have cooled their interest in Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

– Chelsea could let Danny Drinkwater leave on loan

Bayern want Toby

Bayern Munich are plotting a swoop for Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld as a replacement for Jerome Boating, reports claim.

Alderweireld was closely linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer and after falling out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino, he had hoped to secure a switch to Old Trafford.

As far as Boateng is concerned, United tried to secure a deal before the English transfer window closed last week.

However, Bayern supposedly wanted a permanent £50million transfer for the centre-back, but United were only prepared to take him on loan.

Boateng appears to be increasingly likely to join Paris Saint-Germain as personal terms are thought to have been agreed.

And according to The Sun, Alderweireld is on Bayern’s shortlist should Boateng leave.

Ospina loan

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is expected in Rome tonight ahead of his proposed loan move to Napoli, Sky in Italy understand.

The Colombia international will undergo a medical tomorrow.

Napoli will have a right to buy Ospina at the end of the loan.

Ospina has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Bernd Leno this summer and the shot-stopper remains keen on playing regular football.

Zidane to Man Utd?

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly keen on managing in the Premier League and is keeping a close eye on Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Zidane left Real Madrid in May, just days after guiding Los Blancos to a third consecutive Champions League with victory over Liverpool.

He is still out of work despite a successful spell in the Spanish capital in what was the 46-year-old’s first senior managerial role.

L’Equipe claim that Zidane wants to manage in the Premier League and is especially keen on taking charge at Old Trafford.

Mourinho is currently in charge at Manchester United though appears to be frustrated following a lack of significant transfer activity during the summer.

Reports previously claimed that United have Zidane on a shortlist of candidates if Mourinho was to leave at the end of the season.

Mignolet to leave Liverpool

Simon Mignolet looks set to end his Anfield nightmare this week with Napoli closing in on completing a deal.

The Belgian shot-stopper was Liverpool’s No 1 goalkeeper 12 months ago, but fell behind Loris Karius in the pecking order.

And the summer acquisition of Alisson has dropped Mignolet further down the list.

Napoli have been linked with a move for Mignolet in recent weeks and with the Italian transfer window closing on Friday it looks as though they will look to get a deal finalised.

Barca don’t need Pogba

Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has seemingly closed the door on a late move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, insisting the club are ‘satisfied’ with their business in the transfer window.

It’s understood that Barca have explored the option of acquiring Pogba’s services before the close of the Spanish transfer window, which shuts at the end of the month.

But judging from Bartomeu’s recent comments, the Spanish champions won’t be making a last-ditch move for the France international, or any other player for that matter.

“As you all know, the transfer window shuts on August 31 and we’re keeping an eye on the market, but there’s no immediate need to sign anyone,” Bartomeu said.

“We’re satisfied with our business in this window, both with the arrivals and departures, and I want to thank the people who are often forgotten about: our chief executive Oscar Grau, the managing director Pep Segura, our director of football Eric Abidal and his assistant, Ramon Planes.

“We are constructing an excellent squad of players with experience, both homegrown and from elsewhere. This will help us to have success.

“We have brought in young players like [Clement] Lenglet, Arthur and Malcolm, who’ll quickly adapt to the way of playing football here.

“As for Vidal, he is a player with experience, quality and character, who’ll provide balance for the team.

“There are also young players like [Carles] Alena coming into the first team, with others starting to shine too, like [Juan] Miranda, Riqui Puig and Abel Ruiz.

“With the training we give them, I’m sure they’ll reach the first team soon.”

Campbell leaving Arsenal

Arsenal winger Joel Campbell is reportedly set to leave the Emirates for Frosinone on a permanent basis.

ampbell was one of three players that Unai Emery named as surplus to requirements after the Premier League transfer window closed last week.

And he seems set to beat David Ospina and Carl Jenkinson out of the exit door with a move to Serie A new boys Frosinone on the cards.

Sky Sports claim Campbell has flown from north London to Italy in order to undergo a medical with the Lazio-based outfit.

And he is poised to put pen to paper on a three-year deal to draw a close to his seven-year spell on Arsenal’s books.

Drinkwater decision

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is ready to let misfit midfielder Danny Drinkwater go out on loan in the next two weeks if a European side come in for him.

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri’s signings of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have further limited Drinkwater’s chances of breaking into the team this season.

He was a target for his old club Leicester, West Ham and Crystal Palace during the English transfer window which shut on August 9.

And Chelsea are willing to let him go before the August 31 European deadline – if they get a loan fee up front for the former England midfielder.
