Samsung Galaxy S10 may not come with the speedy technology many were hoping for

Galaxy S10 is expected to radically redefine the product line with rumours suggesting the product could feature three cameras and a fingerprint sensor inside the display.

The device could also reduce bezels present on the current S9 and S9+ models further, making Samsung’s lineup look more futuristic than ever.

The South Korean tech giant showed off its new Galaxy Note 9 flagship last week – the phablet boasts incredible specs including 8GB of RAM and a monstrous 512GB of storage.

But during the unveiling DJ Koh, the head of Samsung’s mobile arm, revealed the company is working to be the first to bring 5G technology to a smartphone, according to ZDNet.

The publication added the mobile boss emphasised the Galaxy S10 will not be the first 5G device from the company.

Instead he declared a different device will come equipped with the highly-anticipated feature.

However, it was not clarified whether the S10 will tout 5G connectivity or not.

The other device mentioned by DJ Koh could be referring to Samsung’s foldable smartphone the giant tantalising teased some years ago.

However, the boss could also have been referencing the Note 10 that is set for release this time next year.

On the matter of its collapsable device, the boss seemingly insisted such a project is still in the works.

He also hinted the foldable device could be part of a new flagship line from Samsung.

Koh declared: “We wouldn’t have started the project if it was a going to be a one-time thing.”

5G technology promises to provide radically improved internet for mobile devices that could be up to twenty times faster that what is currently available.

DJ Koh also clarified Samsung has no plans to change its current flagship announcement cycle.

This means the space between debuts of Galaxy S products and Galaxy Note phablets looks set to remain at six months.

The boss noted: “For the immediate future, there won’t be a change in launching the S series in the first half and Note series in the second half of the year.”

Samsung’s newest phone, the Galaxy Note 9 will release on August 24.

The base model of the product will sell for £899 for the 128GB variant while the 512GB option will go for £1,099.
