Fortnite news: Android beta update, Season 5 gifting, Twitch Prime Pack 3

Epic Games has a lot of projects currently underway for their hugely successful Battle Royale game.

The Fortnite Android beta release is currently ongoing and recently saw new devices become compatible.

There are also other projects that could also be announced very soon that have already been seen in the past.

One such feature includes bringing a gifting system to the game on all platforms.

As the name suggests, the new feature looks to make it possible to share items with others.

The Fortnite gifting system has not been officially announced by Epic Games but is rumoured to be coming soon.

This is backed up by information shared by data miners, who believe they have evidence to support a launch during season 5.

Epic Games themselves hinted at such a thing last month, telling fans in a blog post: “If you’re feeling generous, we have a feature on the horizon just for you.”

It’s hard to think what else this could be referring to.

And now people who have been exploring the game’s latest build believe they have found new files linked to the gifting system.

While this isn’t a confirmation, it does suggest that something could be released in the coming weeks.

Not much is known about how this new mechanic will work, although based on some of the assets found, some fans believe it could cost V-Bucks to gift items.

It’s assumed that the Fortnite Gifting System will allow players to share cosmetics, such as skins.

But like with other games, it’s unlikely that Epic Games will allow for V-Bucks to be given to others.

As mentioned above, Epic Games are in the middle of releasing Fortnite on Android.

And having already proved a major success on iOS, Epic Games decided to change things up a little with their latest port.

The Fortnite Android release has seen the game come out on a few devices at first, with Samsung getting first dibs.

The invite system is now opening up to other devices, but it appears the beta phase may last a little while. Epic Games today posted an update on the Fortnite Android beta, confirming that there is a significant issue affecting some devices.

According to the post online, 4GB Android devices are susceptible to bad performance problems, although the reasoning sounds pretty straightforward.

“We have seen reports that some players on 4GB Android devices are encountering an issue causing poor performance,” the message from Epic Games reads.

“This is due to multiple background applications running–leaving the device without enough memory for Fortnite. We are investigating and working on a fix!”

Fans will be hopeful that this problem will be addressed soon, although there are plenty of other things currently bugging players.

Problems are of course expected for a game that has only just launched and is still very limited to the hardware it’s available on.

While Fortnite is no longer a Samsung exclusive, there is a list of confirmed devices it will work on.

Battle Royale fans are waiting for Prime Pack 3 to be released as part of the deal between Twitch and Epic Games.

So far nothing has surfaced officially, although players are expecting something during Fortnite Season 5.

Recent leaks have put the release of the new Twitch Prime Pack during August. However, nothing has appeared as of yet.

Several skins and outfits have been linked to the upcoming cosmetics launch, one of which recently included a new glider.

A “Modern Military Red” glider has been found in the Fortnite game files, which some are linking to the next Prime Pack.

This new design currently has a “TBD” title, suggesting it’s for something that Epic Games are hoping to keep under wraps.

This new addition to the game was spotted over the weekend, meaning it could even be part of the next Fortnite update.

Epic Games have announced that update 5.21 will be launched later today so we may find out more very soon.
