Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku shows off slick new wheels, Paul Pogba nowhere to be seen

Romelu Lukaku stole the show on the way into Carrington in a brand new Mercedes as Manchester United returned to training following victory over Leicester.

Jose Mourinho’s men got their campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 victory over the Foxes on Friday night.

And Lukaku appears to have treated himself to new toy for the 2018/19 season, with the Belgian striker photographed behind the wheel of a black AMG-GT Coupe.

The 25-year-old, who came on as a substitute against Leicester after his post-World Cup exploits, gave a brief wave to the cameras as he arrived at Carrington.

Lukaku’s new ride would set any prospective buyer back a cool £102,030 – just for the basic design.

However, the United striker is definitely not short of cash with .

Lukaku is currently believed to be the third-highest earner at Old Trafford, although David De Gea could draw level if he signs a new deal.

The rest of the Manchester United squad was out in force following their first three points of the season, with the likes of De Gea, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard also spotted.

Paul Pogba was nowhere to be seen after scoring the opening goal of the season for the Red Devils, but Luke Shaw was all-smiles in his Range Rover.

The English full-back popped up to score the winner on Friday night, making the most of a rare start due to injury issues.

Shaw, who was looking very cheerful as he drove past the cameras, will hope to feature again on Sunday when United travel to Brighton to face the Seagulls.

Elsewhere, Juan Mata was happy to spend some time greeting supporters and didn’t even mind when asked to sign a shirt bearing the name of team-mate Rashford.

Mourinho will still be without Diogo Dalot on the south coast due to a meniscus injury, although the Portuguese defender is back training and stopped for pictures with fans outside the training complex.

Phil Jones was also spotted arriving at Carrington after returning from international duty, although Alexis Sanchez was another notable face who wasn’t caught on camera.

Antonio Valencia, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera all missed the clash with Leicester due to injury but the trio were spotted arriving at Carrington alongside their team-mates on Tuesday.

However, Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo are recovering from problems sustained on international duty and unlikely to feature in the matchday squad against Chris Hughton’s side.
