Outrage as mum puts baby on TRAIN TRACKS for photo

The image – which was shared on social media – shows the tot sitting hunched over as a woman crouches down pointing the camera.

Another person is seen leaning over the youngster while a third person stands next to a pram.

The photo of the incident in Fremantle, Western Australia, was shared by Twitter account The Bell Tower Times.

It was captioned: “Now trending on Instagram: babies on train tracks. Spotted in Freo (Steve C)”

However, people were not happy and couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

One user said: “What the f***. It’s a shame the cops didn’t see it and do them for child endangerment.”

Another added: “I would say I hope they don’t reproduce but it’s a little late for that.”

While another simply wrote: “What the actual f*** is going on?”

Some less worried Twitter users believed the tracks were not in use at this point on the line.

Though some argued they still were.

“Good thing the train doesn’t work anymore,” one person said.

While another responded: “For those that are saying no trains you better do some research because freight trains still use it carrying shipping containers from the port.” [sic]

The Public Transport Authority in Australia issued a warning over taking images on any train tracks last year with a rise in popularity of the dangerous trend.

David Hynes, PTA communications manager, said: “The symbolism of a long and winding journey down the rail tracks of life may seem like an endearing metaphor for your shoot, but photographers owe it to their clients to make choices that keep their customers safe.

“Being on the tracks or within the rail reserve, without a permit and other than for traversing a pedestrian crossing, is classified as trespassing.

“If we catch you trespassing, we will infringe you, and the potential alternative is even worse.”
