Instagram down today: Insta stories and photos not posting online

It appears that Instagram has run into trouble tonight during peak hours.

According to the latest reports from users online, Instagram Stories are down right now.

This has led to users not being able to post new photos to their stream or use other core online services.

“I can’t upload to my insta story, anybody else having the same problem?” one user wrote.

Several other Instagram users replied, confirming that they too had been affected by tonight’s outage.

There are also reports that Instagram login services may also be affected, although this appears to be less widespread.

Problems using Insta Stories were first flagged around 8pm, UK time, and are currently ongoing.

Popular sites that are used to track problems with apps and websites currently show reports of problems using Instagram tonight.

However, it’s currently unclear how widespread the problems are and if they will continue for much longer.

No new message has been shared by Instagram on tonight’s problems, although an update is expected if issues persist.

How do you deactivate your Instagram account?

If you don’t want to commit to fully deleting your Instagram account, you can deactivate it in the event you ever want to use it again in the future.

This will temporarily disable your account, stopping people searching for you or you using the app, but will allow you to log back in to reactivate the account.

To do this, go over to www.instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/temporary/ and follow the same instructions, choosing a reason as to why you want to deactivate your account.

You can only deactivate your Instagram once a week.

Re-enter your password and click Temporarily Disable Account.
