Fortnite update 5.2 early patch notes: New heavy sniper weapon, Sniper Shootout LTM return

content update 5.2 is set to be released this week, and if you’re wondering what’s in it check out the early patch notes.

Fortnite content update 5.2 is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android on Tuesday August 14.

Unlike last week’s Fortnite update 5.2, this week’s content update should not require any server downtime.

The Fortnite content update should be rolled out by Epic Games without any disruption to Battle Royale servers.

In the meantime, Fortnite fans have found what the 5.2 content update is likely to include thanks to early patch notes.

Recently Fortnite Battle Royale fans are being teased about a new weapon that is “coming soon” to the hit online game.

That weapon is the heavy sniper which looks set to be added with the Fortnite 5.2 content update.

The teaser description for the heavy sniper is appearing in the “new updates” screen when Fortnite Battle Royale players first log in.

It says: “New Epic and Legendary sniper rifle capable of dealing high damage to structures.”

The Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter account has obtained stats on the damage the epic and legendary variants of the heavy sniper can cause:

Epic Heavy Sniper:

• 150 Body Damage

• 342 Headshot Damage

Legendary Heavy Sniper

• 157 Body Damage

• About 355 Headshot Damage

The @FNBRLeaks Twitter also added that it was likely that the Sniper Shootout LTM could return this week.

They tweeted: “With the new Heavy Sniper Rifle, expect Sniper Shootout to return back this week.”

If the Fortnite Sniper Shootout LTM does arrive this week it will be replacing the Steady Storm LTM.

Monday August 13 is the final full day to be playing the Steady Storm LTM in Fortnite Battle Royale – so jump in while you can.

A new cosmetic being added with Fortnite content update 5.2 could also have been leaked early.

The new ‘Grill Sergeant’ skin could be coming with the upcoming Fortnite content update, Fortnite Insider reported.

The skin was found by YouTuber Trimix and it could be part of the Durr Burger set that was recently released in the item shop.

In-game footage of the Grill Sergeant skin in action has already been leaked online ahead of its official release.

One other new cosmetic that could be added with the Fortnite content update 5.2 is a mysterious glider that has just been discovered.

The glider was discovered in the game files added during a recent hotfix Epic Games deployed, Fortnite Intel reported.

When dataminers equipped it it was titled TBG, but in the Fortnite game files it’s labelled as “ModernMilitaryRed”.

It remains to be seen if this glider will be added as part of the Fortnite content update 5.2 or if it’s coming in a later release.
